Retro Signage

by Matt Crump

It's no secret that one of my favorite subjects is retro signage. The simplicity, quality, and unpretentiousness of bygone signage is what makes it so appealing. When I'm hunting for signage, I look for bright colors (obviously), fun shapes, and bold typography. Here's a collection of some of my favorite signs, all of which are available for purchase directly from me through my new website!

"Surf Liquor" in Santa Monica, CA

"Barton Springs Picnic" in Austin, TX

"In-N-Out" in Los Angeles, CA

"Austin Motel" in Austin, TX

"Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" in Las Vegas, NV

And here's the back of the Las Vegas sign.

"Stardust" in Las Vegas.

"Monterey Motel" in Las Vegas

"Holiday Motel" in Las Vegas

"TOD Motel" in Las Vegas—now an abandoned property.

"Top Notch" in Austin, TX

"Lucy's Fried Chicken" in Austin, TX

"Waffle House" in every roadside, America.

"Flo's V8 Cafe" inside Disney's California Adventure (Anaheim, CA)

"Warehouse Liquors" in Austin, TX

"Delwood Cleaners" in Austin, TX
